Rabindranath World School, Gurugram organized an interactive session with the well renowned writer, Mr. Harinder Sikka, the man behind “Raazi”, on 30th August, 2018. The distinguished guest, Mr. Sikka addressed the audience and shared his experience with them. He revealed the inspiration behind the writing of the novel “Calling Sehmat” which is an espionage thriller that brings to life the story of the unsung heroine of our country. His words ignited the minds of the spectators and they could feel themselves the transformation of Sehmat from an ordinary girl into a deadly spy to protect our soil. He mentioned that there are so many Sehmats still living unknown in our country who had sacrificed their lives for our mother country. He reminded students not to forget their sacrifices. He enthralled the audience through his words and proved through his book that angels exist in the form of Sehmats. Mr. Sikka answered the questions posed by students and concluded with his quote “Let the angel guides us further in our path from here”. The school Chairman, Wg. Cdr. Y S Tomar addressed the gathering and expressed his desire to conduct more interactive sessions in the future to give thorough exposure to students. The session culminated with the vote of thanks proposed by the Principal, Mrs. Manisha Singh.

Rabindranath World School, Gurugram organized a career counseling workshop for the students of class X and XII on 31st August, 2018 in the school auditorium. Career decisions play a pivotal role in shaping the future growth and development of students. The resource person for the session was Dr. Sona Vikas, the faculty of IILM Institute, Gurugram. She conducted psychometric tests in order to measure candidates suitability for a role based on the required personality characteristics and aptitude. The students actively participated in filling the questionnaire given to them as part of the test.  Dr. Sona addressed the students and explained that the results of the psychometric test will help them to understand their strengths and weaknesses, skills and values and thereby advised students to select the career according to their aptitude and interest. The session threw light on different career options in various fields and introduced the concept of “Liberal Education”. The session was an extremely enriching experience and the students wish to be a part of such workshops in the future as well.

Rabindranath World School organized an Inter School Group Dance competition under the aegis of GPSC on 24th August, 2018. Ten GPSC schools participated in the competition, more than 100 students performed dances on “Around The World” theme. The competition was judged by Ms. Pooja Pranya, who is a professional Kathak Dancer. Blue Bells Public School won the 1st prize and DPS sector-45 was adjudged second best. It was a colorful extravaganza.

Rabindranath World School, Gurgaon organized the  Model United Nations titled ‘RWS MUN-2018’ recently. The session commenced by lighting of the lamp by the Principal, Mrs.Manisha Singh. The young delegates representing different countries enthusiastically presented their arguments on topics of global significance. The thought-provoking ideas that were discussed included ‘Are chemical weapons worse than conventional attacks’. The young students came up with very effective suggestions. Delegates used their diplomatic skills, ingenious methods of reasoning and oratory skills to defend their country’s policies. They emphasized their country’s stance on the floor. The discussions were rigorous and intellectually challenging. The session of Open Forum witnessed heated debates by the members on the topic ‘Has India created violation of non-refoulment principles in the Rohingyan crisis?’. Students had a wonderful time in debating, socializing and discussing issues of national and international significance. Students got an opportunity to develop their ability of problem solving and to work with others who are equally motivated and passionate to deal with topics and issues of global concern. Abhishek Yadav and Sakshi Bisht adorned the titles ‘The Secretary General’ and ‘The Secretary’ respectively. Jeevesh Pandey and Adya V Minaxi were adjudged as ‘The Best Debator’ and ‘The Best Speaker’ respectively. ‘The two days’ rich experience culminated with the closing ceremony. The Principal appreciated the efforts and active participation of MUNites and gave trophies and certificates to the outstanding delegates. 

Rabindranth World School celebrated Independence Day on 14th August 2018.

“Leaders are not born but are made by their experiences in life”. To inculcate the leadership qualities in the students and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, the students council was formed through the election process. Rabindranath World School conducted its formal investiture ceremony on 03rd August, 2018. The programme commenced with a welcome dance which captured the attention of the spectators. The glitters of RWS were bestowed with the responsibility of leading the school from the front. The school Chairman Wg. Cdr. Y S Tomar and the Principal, Mrs. Manisha Singh pinned the badges to the newly elected office bearers. The student’s council under the leadership of Headboy Abhishek Yadav and Head Girl Kushi Aggarwal took the oath to abide by the school rules and hold the school motto in high esteem. The Chairman congratulated the office bearers and motivated them to deliver their responsibilities to the best of their abilities. The Principal, Mrs. Manisha Singh addressed the gathering and wished the student leaders in completing the responsibilities entrusted to them in the year ahead. She mentioned the efforts taken by the school in promoting children’s democratic and social skills and stressed on the significance of setting priorities. The ceremony culminated with the vote of thanks.
