Rabindranath World School (RWS), organized a workshop on April 27 in collaboration with Music Institute of Chromatics (MIC), to impart knowledge regarding the significance of teaching music in classrooms for improving oratory and communicative skills among students. Ms. Viktoria Wirth, daughter of the two-time Grammy Award winner and the President and Artistic Director of the Vienna Boys’ Choir, conducted the workshop and gave an introduction to the ‘Wirth Method’, which focuses on the concept that “every human is a musical being and that every student can sing if he or she is able to feel the joy that comes from singing”.

Viktoria further showed a video of her father’s method of singing correctly and the rules one has to bear in mind while learning how to sing. She spoke about how music should not be merely considered as ornamental, as she explained how it could yield better language and analytical skills in children, if they are taught music at an early age. The workshop helped the faculty members of the school as well as the delegates from other institutions to relish the joy of music, and understand the various nuances of the musical world. An interactive session with the audience was conducted thereafter where Viktoria happily provided more suggestions and innovative methods to the music lovers for improving their teaching methodologies. The workshop came to an end with the audience singing the song taught by Ms. Viktoria harmoniously in unison.
