Nainital is a hill station comfortably nested in the Himalayas of Uttarakhand. A adventure trip was organised for class 5^th to 9^th from Rabindranath World School. During this scorching summer heat, heading to Nainital for a mini sojourn and experiencing the most breath-taking vistas of the Himalayas. Outdoor learning is required for the students to inspire them for their education.

The students encountered a sports man spirit and encouraged their passion of adventure. The change in weather every day was a bit challenging for young adventurers by which we realized that Mother Nature is far beyond our expectations. Students learned to keep the body metabolism balanced throughout the journey with delicious food and physical activities. All these activities allowed students to try new attitudes and to stretch their limits to meet these challenges, mentally as well as physically.

The hike starts at Durung of  Nainital (Twilight camp, Khurpatal) city which is perfect for all interest and fitness levels. It takes you through lush and green forest. Two teams were divided among the students to represent their performance. Name of the teams were – (i)Team Titans, (ii)Team Thunder. Adventurers were motivated to achieve mental states characterized as rush or flow, resulting from stepping outside of their comfort zone. This may include activities such as mountaineering, trekking, Jumaring and Tyrolean Traverse, free fall jumping, caves visit, zip-lining, and rope climbing. Beautiful bonfire and cultural performances brought smile on the face of students after the whole day workout.

The places we visited after the trek was Mall Road which offered us a small surprise to see the Bollywood shooting at the mid of the market. Moving ahead to Naina Devi Temple which is also a Shakti pith, we experienced the holiness. The fun done during the boating in Naini Lake was immense. After that it was time for shopping in Tibetan Market.

Adventure tourism, involves exploration or travel with perceived (and possibly actual) risk, and potentially requiring specialized skills and physical exertion which are beneficiary. Adventure tourism is rapidly growing in popularity, in contemporary times. Students had a time to relax themselves and boost up their immunity in this trip. It can be expressed as a physical activity, a cultural exchange or interaction and engagement with nature which helped to know their strengths and weakness and learn the value of natural resources.

“Trails are like that: you’re floating along in a Shakespearean Arden paradise and expect to see nymphs and flute boys, then suddenly you’re struggling in a hot broiling sun of hell in dust and nettles and poison oak…just like life.” Rabindranath World School believes that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body, for which exercising and pushing ourselves outside our limits is very important to build both physical and mental strength. ‘The Rabindranath World School’ takes pride in announcing a trip to the famous “Kedarkantha”. This trek is organized for senior students of classes X to XII, and to impart the knowledge regarding various aspects, from what to carry, what not to carry, what to expect from the forests, and for other important things, we did a session with our students, where we invited Mr. Saurabh Minocha, the partner at Yeti Outdoors. Mr. Minocha is a trek leader, a first aid expert, and a professional climber. He conducted the whole session where he interacted with students, showed them how and what to pack in their bags, and a lot of other things. Our Vice-Chairman, Mr. Gaurav Tomar was also present there to motivate students and share his experiences of going on the trek as he has done earlier also. Students were very excited about the session and they were fully involved in the same. It was a great learning experience for them from an expert.

To bring out the creativity of our students and to create a sense of fulfillment, Rabindranath World School organized an Inter House Singing competition in the school premises on 13th May 2022. Students of middle wing participated in this competition with full zeal. All our houses of the school, namely, Shantiniketan, Takshila, Prayag, and Nalanda participated in the competition. The first prize was begged by Prayag house, whereas the first and second runner-ups were Nalanda house and Shantiniketan house respectively. The event was judged by Mr. Rohan Solomon, who is a singer, composer, producer, audio engineer, and a grammy award nominee; Mr. Victor Dutt, a guitarist, singer, and a composer; Mr. Mohit Rathore, CEO of Chromatics Music Pvt. Ltd. Apart from that the event was also graced by our esteemed guests, Mrs. Deepa Agnihotri, Wing Commander (Retd.) YS Tomar and Mrs. Manisha Tomar. All the three judges after the announcement of the result, got on to the stage and interacted a little with the students and imparted some magical knowledge of music. In the end, the event was culminated by The Vice Chairman, Mr. Gaurav Tomar, and Principal Mrs. Poonam Grover.

All its color and movement attract their eager attention, and then they will renounce their lives to gain knowledge” We at “The Rabindranath World School” truly believe the words of Gurudev Rabindranath and celebrated Rabindranath Jayanti on 11th May 2022. The students of our school presented a stupendous show. The event started with Rabindra Sangeet. After that, our students and teachers collaborated to present a dance that showed Indian culture in a very staggering way. Students of the primary wing then presented a play whose main theme was the role of education in one's life. The event was graced by the Managing Partner of Eduvisor, Mr. Vijay Shukla as a chief guest, who motivated the students to work hard and achieve great heights. He also interacted with senior students and guided them for their future. He explained how failure is also an important part of the learning process. The school chairman, Wing Commander YS Tomar (Retd.), and Director Mrs. Manisha Tomar were also present there to motivate the children.

Rabindranites staged a street play on the theme “Fight Against Malaria and Anaemia” to highlight the importance of hygiene and healthy diet, in order to combat the deadly diseases like malaria and anaemia. The aim was to create awareness regarding the steps to be taken to curb the spread of lethal diseases. The play revolved around prevention, diagnosis, treatment and elimination of diseases. Rabindranites took pledge to create awareness about the same in their neighbourhood ,and extend their helping hands in fighting against life threatening diseases like anaemia and malaria. The students also exhorted the audience to do their little bit in making society a healthy place to live. The Chairman,Wing Commander Y. S. Tomar appreciated the students for their exceptional performance, and also advised the students have nutritious food for their physical and mental well-being.
