Father’s day was celebrated at Rabindranath World School on 24 July, 2019. The event was organised by Mrs. Preethi Ranjith, the headmistress of the Primary Section along with the teachers and students of class V. The programme was compered by Parth Pathak and Naisha Rathi, both students of Class V. The event started with a speech by Kashvee Agrawal, who shared her heartfelt feelings for her father. It is said that for a daughter, no matter where she goes in life, her father will always be number one and for a son, his dad is a role model. Then we had a graceful medley dance that expressed these sentiments. Manas Gupta further recited a poem called ‘My Dad’s Hand’. This was followed by the choir group, which sang a melodious song, ‘I see a Hero’. for their dads.  Then, we had a shayari by Mishka Roy and Astha Singh which depicted the sentiments that we should never forget our parents, they are the reason for our existence. Then the students performed a mime which expressed the thought that our parents didn’t leave us when we were young, so we should not leave them when they are old. Anushree Pandey further recited a Hindi poem that conveyed the feeling that a father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed and yet one of the most valuable assets in a child’s life. This was followed by an energetic Bhangra dance by the students which lit up   the mood of the audience. The programme was concluded by some games, where fathers made plaits for their daughters and performed a paper dance. The winners were awarded for the same.  The parents thoroughly enjoyed the performance put up by the students and appreciated the efforts of their wards, the teachers and the school management.
