Keeping alive the old tradition of organising Inter School Dance Competitions, Rabindranath World School yet again brilliantly organized ‘Folk Fiesta’ an amalgamation of folk dances of the Seven Sisters, where the rich cultural tapestry of the Seven Sisters came alive through the art of folk dance. On 22nd November, 2023, the young performers of various Schools of Gurgaon zestfully participated in the event organized in the school auditorium.
The competition began with great excitement and vigour. The participants, dressed in colourful costumes, set the stage on fire with their enthralling and energetic performance. The fun filled extravaganza featured varied forms of folk dances of north-east witnessing a celebration of diversity and tradition. The air became alive as the dancers, clad in vibrant and flashy accoutrement, whirled and twirled to the rhythmic beats of melodious numbers. It was a challenge for the judges to pick out the winners.
Ms. Anindita Chatterjee, an empanelled artist at Indian Council for Cultural Relations and Ms. Aakriti Gautam, a passionate dancer were the esteemed judges for the event. They appreciated the efforts of the students in putting up a splendid performance. They praised the impressive choreography and graceful movement of the performers which drew thunderous applause from the spectators.
The event was a resounding success, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the students, teachers and organizers, that not only celebrated the young talent but also increased the self confidence and self esteem in the children.
