This Independence Day, as the dawn of freedom is once again painted in the hues of saffron, white, and green, we gathered to pay tribute to our beloved nation and to the brave hearts whose sacrifice gifted us liberty.

Our celebration was graced by the esteemed presence of Colonel S. K. Kaushik, Commanding Officer, 5 Haryana Battalion NCC, as the Chief Guest. A decorated officer of the Indian Army, Colonel Kaushik has served the nation with distinction in the Kargil War, in counter-insurgency operations, and in international peacekeeping missions. His life and service stand as an inspiration to every citizen, particularly the youth.

The Chief Guest was accorded a Guard of Honour by the NCC Troop, a display of discipline and respect that echoed the spirit of the armed forces. The National Flag was then unfurled with pride, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, filling every heart with emotion and reverence.

The cultural segment of the programme unfolded with patriotic songs, vibrant dances, and stirring dramatic performances. Each item was a tribute to the heroes of our freedom struggle and a celebration of India’s unity in diversity. The passion, creativity, and energy of the students brought alive the spirit of freedom, sacrifice, and national pride.

The performances were warmly praised by the Chief Guest, who commended the students for their discipline, enthusiasm, and heartfelt expression of patriotism. He encouraged the young minds to carry the same zeal into every walk of life and to dedicate themselves to the service of the nation in whichever field they choose.

Guided by the vision of our Chairman, Wing Commander Y. S. Tomar (Retd), and the leadership of our Principal, Ms. Vanita Baghla, the celebration stood as a reminder that freedom is both our proud inheritance and our sacred responsibility.

As the day concluded, the spirit of patriotism glowed brighter in every heart, renewing our pledge to keep the tricolour flying high with honour and dignity.

The Investiture Ceremony is one of the most prestigious and awaited events of the school calendar — a day when leadership is not just entrusted, but celebrated, and responsibility is formally placed on young shoulders.

The solemn occasion began with the school welcoming the distinguished dignitaries, respected Chairman, Wg Cdr. Y. S. Tomar (Retd), and our dynamic Principal, Ms. Vanita Bagla, whose vision continues to inspire every student to excel in academics, discipline, and co-curricular pursuits.

The ceremony commenced with the traditional Guard of Honour by the NCC Troop, symbolising the values of discipline, commitment, and unity. The atmosphere was charged with pride and anticipation as the newly elected Student Council marched forward with confidence, ready to take on their new responsibilities.

The school leaders, house captains, prefects, and other office bearers were conferred with their badges and sashes by the dignitaries, marking the official recognition of their leadership roles. The solemnity of the moment reached its zenith when the council members took the Oath of Office, pledging to uphold the values of the school, lead by example, and dedicate themselves to the service of their peers and institution.

In her address, Principal Ms. Vanita Baghla reminded the young leaders that a badge is not just an emblem of authority, but a symbol of responsibility and service. She urged them to be role models in conduct, discipline, and character.

The Chairman, Wg. Cdr. Y. S. Tomar (Retd), in his inspiring words, praised the newly invested council and motivated them to lead with courage, humility, and dedication. He emphasized that true leadership is about guiding others selflessly and working for the greater good.

The ceremony concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, leaving behind an atmosphere of inspiration, pride, and renewed commitment to the school motto and values.

The Investiture Ceremony was indeed a momentous occasion — one that marked not only the installation of new leaders but also the reaffirmation of the school’s belief in nurturing future citizens who will lead with integrity and vision.
